Good fuel economy, GPS comes standard Ride is too rough, Brakes sometimes clank Cost too much, Nice design, bad fuel economy for this small car Customer Care Please Ignore, Testing only
Pros: Drives like a 3 series- Great brakes, power, steering, seats, handling
Cons: Costs as much as a 3 series, has quality issues, drinks gas like a SUV, little interior room
I have owned many cars in my lifetime and never did I have a LEMON until I bought a BMW. In this case, the engine had severe failure and damage on 3 accounts, all the same problem- crankshaft failure/cracked block. The first time the problem occured (4,200 miles) the dealer replaced the crankshaft with no hassle and gave me a loaner car for 4 days. The second time, 3 months later (9,000 miles), the dealer said it may have been a bad batch of crankshafts and replaced it again, no hassle in 2 days. The third time (15,700 miles), they tried to blame me for various items- improper start up, not enough warm up time etc as the crankshaft falied along with the block cracking in half while driving to the car wash. In the end and after contacting a lemon lawyer they gave me the choice of a new 135i, or money back. I opted for having my money back. Along the way, the starter motor burned out, the key fob de-programmed itself and managed to set the alarm so that the doors would not unlock, the rear suspension somehow unbolted itself from the sub-frame, the rear window cracked, the rear defroster did not work half the time, the A/C controls malfunctioned leaving me with cold air blowing at me in the winter time when it was 30 degrees outside and numerous other electrical problems. Any question as to why I did not want a new car?
I would never buy a BMW again. Looking back it was over priced for what I got. The engine only returned 16 MPG which might have been because of the engine failure. The interior was nice looking but small and cramped. I must say it drove great but was not worth the time and headache of owning.
no fog lights, a real let down on such a highly priced car, but apart from that, love my new ride
unbelievably fun to drive, great looks, great interior, you wont regret buying this car. except the 3 series is cheaper and i guess its up to you which one you want
well i just traded my 04 mercedes benz c class for this awsome machine. my benz was acting up and started to fall apart so i got a bimmer, a 135i and i love it. it is smaller but i think folks know this when or before they buy it so i knew a backseat wasnt “wow” but its just me an my son anyhoo so i dont need a ton of room, but this car gives me chiils every time i drive it. it is simply amazing, thanx bmw.
